To start off the year, we participated in the Heart Mini Marathon EXPO in March. In May, a group “Squealed” for the Flying Pig Marathoners between Mile 16 & 17!
Beginning June 1st , you will be able to register by downloading a form to print off and mail in, or Go to GetMeRegistered.com Running Scared 5k to register on-line! The big news is Register between 6/1 and 7/15 to save $5 off from your registration!
Whatever you do, don’t miss this year’s race: Saturday, October 13th, 2012!!!

Mark your calendars for next year: Saturday, Oct. 13th!
The excitement is building! Packet Pick-up at Roncker’s in Glendale on October 13th went smoothly. More runners/walkers came to register for the Saturday event. There was some talk about costumes, wings…horns…but mostly people were secretive about their costumes. And why not? After all the costume contest is a part of the Post Race Party. If you are creative or just like watching people make a spectacle of themselves, this is the race for you! With Halloween only a few short weeks away and the loops through the cemetery, you should expect some Spooky surprises! Don’t miss this FLAT course with the excellent party afterwards. You may still register day of event: Saturday, October 15th, 4:00pm-5:45 at Registration tents outside of Haffey Fieldhouse: 1600 West Street, Reading, Ohio, 45215. Any questions? 513-309-7464.
For those who don’t want to run or walk, you can still support Youth Education by coming to the Post Race Party. For only $20, you may still enjoy the food, drinks, music from BlueFish and costume contest!
You may purchase your tickets at the entrance tent the night of the race, Oct. 15th. Party is from 6:30-11pm. Bring your I.D. if you plan to drink alcoholic beverages. Prepare for a “Spook-tacular” night!
For those of you who want to run or walk: Go to www.GetMeRegistered.com and you can register on-line with a credit card. Registration on-line closes Wed. Oct. 12th at midnight. You can also come to Packet Pick-up at Roncker’s in Glendale on Thursday, Oct. 13th and register. Lastly, you may still register the day of the event, Oct. 15th beginning at 4:00pm up until 5:45 at the Reading Veteran’s Memorial Stadium. Race starts at 6pm.

Pictured are some of the members of the Running Scaredy Cats Training group from a recent evening workout. The group is up to 15 people now and we welcome every level from beginners to marathoners. Join us when you are able: Tues. and Thurs. evenings at 6:30pm and Saturday mornings at 8am.
A training group, led by Coach Gina Meyers, gathered for the first session of the 10 week program last night, March 29th. Many of the ladies were just starting or getting back into walking and running. The first night consisted of 1 mile in the brisk weather. Afterwards, everyone went into the warm school and Coach Gina went over a few different topics. She covered ways to stay motivated in “Getting out the Door” and “Keys to Success.” She also discussed layering for cooler weather in “Proper Attire.”
All skill levels are welcome to join our group, affectionately nicknamed “The Running Scaredy Cats.” Within the 10 week session, the groups meets 3 times per week: Tues. evenings and Thurs. evenings at 6:30pm & Saturday mornings at 8am. We meet at Sts. Peter and Paul Academy, 231 Clark Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45215.
The training sessions are Free. However, if you want an individualized training packet, Coach Gina will make you one for $5. You may contact her for the questionaire at meyersgm@yahoo.com

A training group is being formed and is scheduled to start at the end of March. Preliminary plans are for the training runs/walks to be held Tues. and Thurs. evenings and Saturday mornings starting and ending at Sts. Peter and Paul Academy in Reading. Input from the participants will decide the finalized meeting date, time and place. Check back for details in the near future.
