As you can see from the header, the 2013 Running Scared 5k shirt will be RED! Blood RED as some have said. It’s still gonna be available in long or short sleeve for $10.
This year’s printable Registration Form is now available for those who want to mail in their registration. On-line Registration will be available at GetMeRegistered.com by June 1st for those who wish to register with a credit card.

Prayers for beautiful weather and a large crowd were answered. With approximately 500 participants in the 5k and 100 in the Kids Fun Run, and the help of our wonderful sponsors, we raised over $43,000.00 for Youth Education! Wow! Thank you to everyone who came out to run, walk and volunteer. We could not have done it without you.

That’s Right! We have picked our date and confirmed it with the City of Reading. The Stadium and Haffey Fieldhouse are reserved. Now all we need is for you to get your group together and mark it on your calendar.

This year we are adding something new to make the race more memorable. We are allowing teams to tell us who they are running for and the names will be announced before the race begins. You may let us know at Packet Pick-Up or by phone to: 513-309-7464. So far people have let us know these teams:

Did you know that the Running Scared 5k hosts a College Challenge with a loving cup trophy? When you pick up your packet, tell us what college you currently are attending and we will tally the numbers for an announcement at the post race party of which college wins. Winning college will be engraved on the plaque for display. University of Cincinnati and Wright State University won the first 2 years. Get your friends together and make sure you tell us as you pick up your race packet.
Did you know this year, we are encouraging teams to walk In Memory or In Honor of someone? Let us know before the race, who your team is walking for and their name will be announced at the beginning of the race. Need more info, call 513-309-7464
The Cool thing about our race is the course. It’s FLAT and runs through the graveyard where there are some spooky surprises. Our runners and walkers are invited to wear costumes! The first 50 men and first 50 women to cross the finish line get some awesome mugs as awards.
The Post Race Party is the coolest. We have a live band,a beer garden, lots of wonderful food from our sponsors, a chili cook-off, door prizes, raffle baskets and indoor bathrooms!
We think it’s cool that all of our money raised goes to Youth Education. Last year we raised $35,000. We hope to raise even more this year as the race continues to grow. Join us and have a blast for a great cause!

Also, if you are registered for the race by Oct. 5th, you will be eligible for the Door Prize drawings. You will definitely want to be in for chances at these fabulous prizes! Some of the prizes we will be giving away include: $100 gift card towards a pair of shoes at Roncker’s Running Spot, $100 bowling birthday party at Crossgate Lanes, jackets, gym bags, hats, gift certificates to restaurants, Starbucks coffee and lots, lots more!
